The
Sunshine Coast in British Columbia (north of Vancouver, BC) is a natural epicenter for culture and eco-tourism. The coast
is lined by beautiful mountain scenery and a charming coastline that enchants
visitors year round.
The
Sunshine Coast climate offers mild, moist winters and warm dry summers. The Sunshine
Coast is sheltered from the open Pacific Ocean, and the milder weather patterns
result in temperatures that reach highs of 30°C (90°F)
in summer.

The closest town to Tzoonie's Wilderness Resort is Sechelt, BC. It was named
after the original First Nations people of the region, the Shishalh. Sechelt
is a small community that sits on a sandbar at the foot of the Sechelt Inlet.
The word "Sechelt" means
land between two waters.
Location: Sechelt is located on Highway 101 on the Sunshine
Coast, which is accessible from the rest of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland only by ferry,
boat or airplane. Travellers aboard BC Ferries leave Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver
for the 9.5-mile (15.5-km) ride to Langdale on the Sechelt Peninsula (45 minutes).
Highway 101 links Langdale with Sechelt, 9 miles (15 km) to the north.
