We are fortunate we are able to access many miles of abandoned logging trails
which provide the opportunity to visit and explore a vast area of remote forests,
streams and lakes.
Some of the terrain is hilly and makes for tough biking to favorite
destinations. For bikers who prefer flat terrain we plan to bypass the hills
with some boat travel. The most preferred destination is a route which runs adjacent to the Tzoonie River for approximately 20 kms to Tzoonie Lake. A most important feature is that trails exist on both sides of river which allows for new scenery both coming and going.Trails begin
at the mouth of the River, at the head of Narrows Inlet, which we will access
by boat thereby eliminating 16 kms of mostly rugged trail from Resort to end
of Inlet.
In addition to the incredible scenery of river and mountains along the route,
there are a number of great trout fishing holes. Wildlife viewing
and photography opportunities are almost certain and include bear, mountain goats,
elk and deer.
The plan is to load bikes and up to eight guests on boat early in AM for drop-off
at river and return for pickup early evening.
If you are planning to fish you must have freshwater licence and gear (casting
or fly).
Cost: $180.00 ( to be shared by participants)
Cost covers return boat transportation from resort to head of Inlet (approx 32
kms). Rate applies only to guests and includes transportaion of bikes. If you are not a biker you may wish to enjoy the same experience by hiking.

Argo tours and safaris
We attempted to introduce the Argo safari tours a couple of years ago but summer logging restricted access to logging trails which resulted in putting everything on hold. Logging is done for a few years and plans are underway for 2012 seeason
Our tours will be designed to accommodate the different interests of our guests, i.e. photography, game and bird watching, fishing and hiking.
Unfortunately we cannot describe and plan individual tours until springtime conditions determine which roads will be passable.

New Hiking Trail
Early in the
2010 season we completed construction of an estimated 12 km hiking trail accessed directly from our resort which takes hikers up 4000 ft to a mountain top, through our own "Rogers Pass", thence following abandonned logging trails back to camp. During 2011 season a number of guests did the hike this summer. It took approx 4 hours. They described it as a great intermediate hike with some incredible views of Inlets.

Glamping
We have added a large wall tent complete with queen size bed and cot, deck, etc. Apparently the new buzz word is "glamping" which describes glamorous camping. The ambience, smell, visual and sound qualities make for a more "natural" experience. Enjoy spectacular view of Inlet from deck.

Birdwatching
Lynn Langley of Birch Bay Washington made us aware of the many varieties of birdlife she sighted in two days. She provided a list of many species which we can make available if you care to contact us.
